The Town of Penhold
is a growing community and a great place to raise a family
Located half way between
Red Deer and Innisfail at the junction of Highway 2A and 42, Penhold is a great place to raise
a family and know your neighbours. The town is also close to Highway 2
and the Red Deer Regional Airport and is a growing community of over
2,000 people. The Penhold Regional Multiplex, completed in 2010,
includes an arena, running track, gymnasium, library, concession,
lounge, dance studio and fitness studio.
Penhold was originally a whistle stop on the Calgary and Edmonton
Railway, operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway. It became a village
in 1904 and a town in 1981. It was the primary arrival and departure
point for trainees and personnel of the Canadian forces base about 5 km
away during the Second World War.
