Red Deer College libraryThe region boasts an extensive range of educational options from kindergarten to post secondary. Red Deer College, Olds College and Canadian University College in Lacombe offer a wide range of quality academic, arts and trades courses.

Primary and secondary education is provided by several school divisions including Red Deer public, Red Deer Catholic, Chinook's Edge, Wild Rose and Wolf Creek.

Blackfalds splash parkThe David Thompson Health Region covers much of the Red Deer region supplying health care to all communities through hospitals, health centres, health units and education.

A wide range of recreational facilities in most communities include ice rinks, swimming pools, sports fields, a large variety of other indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, magnificent walking and bicycle trails, parks including the cherished Waskasoo Park, movie theatres, community halls, entertainment venues as well as performing and visual arts facilities.

The city and region boast several annual festivals including Westerner Days, CentreFest, rodeos and parades. The region is also well known for community volunteerism through several service clubs, societies, advocacy groups and organizations.
