 Major Central Alberta Attractions -
City Hall Park
Red Deer
Home to both city hall and the main library building which has incorporated the historic armoury building, visitors and residents alike often enjoy the atmosphere of the park located in the center of the city with its very well manicured gardens consisting of hundreds of flowers, green areas, pathways, serene benches and summer entertainment. One of many park facilities scattered throughout the city, including Waskasoo Park along the creeks and river, making Red Deer one of the most beautiful cities of its size in Canada. (see Parks and Nature for more about Waskasoo Park)
Downtown Ghosts Project, Murals and Alexander Way
Red Deer
Wind your way through the downtown core where you will meet Red Deer's founder, a musical mentor, an intrepid little pig, rearing horses and much more, all in bronze. Compliment this with the historical walking tour for a variety of architectural styles (including the old CPR railway station, old court house and old armoury, all preserved historical sites) that have made Red Deer a unique and culturally rich community. Under development is Alexander Way from the Recreation Centre and the Golden Circle through the downtown and eventually through Riverlands across the river to Bower Ponds with street art, furniture, plantings, murals, cultural events and boutiques.
